Miner, Frederick Roland (1876-1935) Painter. photographer. Born in New London, CT on Oct 28, 1876. Miner studied at the ASL in NYC under John Carlson. After arriving in southern California in 1897, he has a studio home in Pasadena. A peripatetic artist, he made many trips back to the East Coast to paint and study. He received criticism from William Wendt while painting in the Sierra. He authoried and with his own photographs and paintings, iillustrated the book "Outdoor California" in 1923. Miner died in LA on Jan 10 1935. Exh: Architecture Club (LA) 1912.
