White, Orrin Augustine Laundry Day
White, Orrin Augustine (1883-1969) Painter, Born in Hanover, IL on Dec 5 1882. Although artically inclined at an early age. White did not pursue an art career until he was in his 30s. After receiving a BA degree from Notre Dame Univ in 1902, he studied textile design at the Philadelphia School of Applied Art until 1906. He moved to LA in 1912 and worked for an Interior decorating company while painting landscapes in his leisure. When his work was accepted for exhibition at the PPIE in 1915, he decided to devote full-time to painting He served in WW1 and upon his discharge he returned to LA and from that time earned his living as a landscape artist He had a studio in his home in Pasadena and sketched the desert around Palm Springs .
