Irving, Minnie Kimbal. (1856-1919) Painter. Born in New York on July 27, 1856. Kimbal graduated from the Boston Museum Art School. By 1865 she had married and moved ot Calif. For about ten yrs thereafter she was active in the SF art scene. During the last 25 yrs of her life she sufferend with tuberculosis while living in rural Placer County. She died at her home near Colfax Ca on July 18 1919. Primarily a still-life painter of grapes and florals, her rare works also include miniature portraits on ivory and botancial drawings Exh: SFAA 1885-1904; Michjanics Inst (SF) 1884, 1893; California State Fair. 1886-95, Calif Bldg World's Columbian Expo (Chicago) 1893; Starr King Fraternity 1905 Oakalnd Art fund 1905
